The Little Burlap Barn is a Southern California boutique home decor shop with seriously adorable products — the kind of shop you walk into and immediately want everything. They ship all over the US, which means their website isn't just a storefront, it's their main stage. When owner Ashley came to me, she knew her online shop wasn't doing her product lineup any justice.

The Little Burlap Barn had been running on Square, which worked fine in the early days. But as the shop grew — more products, more customers, more complexity — the platform started to show its limits. The site couldn't scale with the business, the collections weren't organized in a way that made shopping intuitive, and the overall feel of the store didn't capture the cozy, curated charm that makes the brand so special in person. Ashley needed a platform that could actually keep up, and a design that felt like an extension of the shop itself.

I built a fully custom Shopify store designed to feel like you're actually browsing the barn — textured, layered, and full of personality. Think scrapbook-style warmth: the kind of digital space that makes you want to linger. I worked closely with Ashley throughout every step, making sure the site reflected exactly what she had in mind, not just a template with her logo swapped in. On the technical side, I imported all 400+ products, organized the collections in a way that's intuitive and easy to shop, set up shipping integrations so fulfillment actually works seamlessly, and built out a candle subscription feature so her most loyal customers can get their favorites on repeat. The result is a store that finally matches the quality and charm of what's inside it.
